Rules
Every rule of Hey Mayor!, in plain words. Play with the ring timer, or in Chill mode with no timer.
- Every block must touch the city. The next three wait in the dock. Hold one for later, or swap, once per block.
- Tap a block or its round arrow to turn it. Pinch or scroll to zoom, drag to pan.
- A lot climbs a level when its zone has demand and the neighbourhood is desirable. Level 2 needs police (homes, shops) or fire (industry) within 3 lots; level 3 needs both.
- In a Timer game, about every 8 drops a lot held back by missing police or fire (its hollow badge) has a fire or a break-in. A fire brings a 1×1 Fire Station as your next block, a break-in a 1×1 Police Post. Cover the lot in the next 3 drops or it loses a level.
- The city starts with 8×8 open lots around City Hall. Population milestones open land on the busiest edge. Each level resets the timer and zooms out.
- After 3 untimed blocks each block has 9 seconds, and the ring gets 3% shorter with every drop on a level, never under 4 seconds. When it closes, the block is gone and one of your 6 hearts breaks. If nothing fits, a heart breaks too and new blocks come. Lose all 6 and the game ends. Each new level gives a heart back, up to 6. If you are dragging over a legal spot when the ring closes, it drops there instead.
- Dropping in the first half of the ring chains a combo: ×1.05, ×1.1 … up to ×1.15 on that drop's population gain. Score is population plus the combo bonus.
- Chill mode has no timer, combo or hearts. Pick it on your first game, start a new Chill game from Game Over, or Continue the same city there. When a block does not fit, the city opens land on its busiest edge. Best scores and stars come only from Timer games.
